Rockstar Games finally gave fans their first glimpse at Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), set in a fictional version of Miami known to GTA fans as Vice City after the trailer leaked 13 hours before the official launch. Trailer Breakdown
The GTA 6 Trailer teases players with a return to Vice City, a fan favourite which was last seen in 2006’s GTA: Vice City Stories.
The Trailer opens in a prison with Lucia (one of the dual protagonists) during what seems to be a parole interview and finishes with her and her partner robbing a store which as GTA fans know is a familiar activity. Throughout the trailer, we are exposed to new characters, vehicles, Rockstar’s take on social media through an Instagram-esque function, alligators, new car designs, rooftop parties and much more. The contrasting scenes of beautiful sun-filled beaches and the hard-partying city lifestyle craft an interesting image of the city.
Lucia is the first speaking female protagonist in an open-world GTA game as the original copy of the game released in 1997 featured multiple female leads with no speaking role.
Top 5 Things You Missed During The Trailer
- Vice City is confirmed to be a part of a much bigger GTA 6 map through details spotted in the trailer like road signs and news bulletins that appeared throughout. GTA 6 will likely contain maps from past games like Los Santos or Liberty City
- We have the name of the female protagonist Lucia but the name of the male protagonist is still unknown. Leakers indicate the likely name of the male characters is Jason but nothing is confirmed.

The GTA 6 release date is hinted at the end of the trailer as Rockstar tease a 2025 release so eager fans still have over a year to wait. Xbox and Playstation fans have had the release date confirmed in 2025 but there is no information about the PC release date, though if it follows the same pattern as previous games in the series, a PC release will likely follow.

Rockstar Games was forced to publish the trailer 13 hours early after a low-quality copy of the trailer was leaked online. The leaked trailer was posted on X and spread like wildfire across the internet. After X banned the account the trailer was posted on, fans concluded that must have been the official trailer. This was followed by the official release of the trailer by Rockstar Games.
How Much Will GTA 6 Cost?
The price of GTA 6 is still unknown. It’s possible it could be in the £40-£50 range for older generation consoles and in the £60-£70 range for newer generation consoles as this is the typical price for new games in 2023.
Some leaks suggest the price could be as high as £120 giving it one of the highest launch prices for a game ever. There is no current information about being able to preorder GTA 6 but as we approach the release date we will find out more information.
