Liverpool’s 100% home record remains intact after a Sunday mid-day thriller, with heroic performances from players like Endo and Mac Allister, who both scored in the shocking 7-goal game. However, the show was stolen by a magnificent performance from the Man of the Match, Trent Alexander-Arnold who scored the winning goal and also forced an own goal at the start of the game from an amazing free kick.

Liverpool’s resilience was tested by a fierce Fulham squad who are currently sitting in a humble 14th position. Goals from Wilson 25′, Tete 45′, De Cordova-Reid 80′ all kept Fulham within grasp of winning this nail-biting game but goals from Endo 87′ and Alexander-Arnold 88′ sealed the game for the favourites.

Match Report (Liverpool vs Fulham 03.12.23)

Liverpool controlled the early stages of the game and eventually went in front after Trent forced an own goal from Fulham keeper Leno (OG 20′) from an astonishing free-kick after Dominik Szoboszlai drew a foul from Joao Palhinha.

4 Minutes later, Fulham struck back with a fortunate finish from the former Liverpool player Harry Wilson in the 25th minute. The Welsh International received a pass from Antonee Robinson on the left wing and placed the ball past Caoimhin Kelleher.

Both sides became balanced until Mac Allister produced a wonderful strike from nearly 30 yards out in the 38th minute, giving Liverpool a one-goal lead.

Fulham responded in the third minute of first-half added time with a scrappy goal from Tete 45′ coupled with a VAR decision. The goal was initially ruled out for offside but was overturned following a VAR review.

The Fulham fans were left disappointed when Tim Ream thought he’d scored from another set piece. Palhinha’s initial header was saved and Ream got the rebound and scored only to be denied by the linesmen for offside.

On a counter-attack, Salah passed the ball into Nunez who smashed it against the crossbar leaving Liverpool once again inches away from taking the lead. The woodwork is a familiar sight for Nunez this season as he has hit the woodwork 3 times more than any player this season.

The Uruguayan international then had another chance to score, but put it well past the post leaving the game all tied up.

In the 80th minute, Fulham responded and for the first time in the game took the lead. It came through a beautiful cross by Tom Cairney and a spectacular header from De Cordova-Reid 80′ over Virgil Van Dijk and Konstantinos Tsimikas.

Again Liverpool squandered the opportunity to level the game with Salah blasting the ball over the crossbar after Leno produced a crucial save to deny Luis Diaz and keep Fulham ahead.

However, in the 87th minute, Endo received a pass from Salah beyond the box and buried it in the top right-hand corner, equalising the game in dramatic fashion.

Then hardly a minute later Trent received a deflection just inside the box and placed it in the bottom left-hand corner securing the win for Liverpool and making Alexander-Arnold the Man of the Match.

Alexander-Arnold’s Reaction To His Winning Goal (Liv vs Ful 03.12.23)

Trent Alexander Arnold said on his match-winning goal:

“I anticipated where the ball was going to drop and thought just get it down, get a shot off and try to hit the target.

“I had one a bit earlier where I was disappointed with a volley in a similar area.

“I just wanted to hit the target and use the bodies in the box as an advantage.

“It found a way into the back of the net, and you can see by the celebration how much it meant.”
